Woman examining a quilt at the Fine Art of Fiber

Fine Art of Fiber

The Fine Art of Fiber (FAOF) show will be November 4-6, 2022 at the Chicago Botanic Garden. Submission forms for the exhibit and boutique will be posted July 1, 2022 on the Fine Art of Fiber website (fineartoffiber.org). Submission deadline for the exhibit and the boutique is September 12, 2022.
Join us at Chicagoland’s ultimate quilt exhibition. The Fine Art of Fiber is held at the Chicago Botanic Garden, a one-of-a-kind venue provides our members with a unique opportunity to display their work. It’s a great way to meet quilters and explore the variety of quilt styles. IQI has been exhibiting quilts here for over 30 years, along with work from the North Suburban Needlearts Guild and the Weavers Guild of the North Shore. Attendance at the Fine Art of Fiber recently broke the 10,000 mark.
Can you find a more perfect location to showcase your work? IQI members may exhibit one piece a year as part of their membership benefits. Additional pieces can be submitted for consideration by the FAOF Committee. There is a non-refundable $10.00 fee per item submitted, and exhibitors are expected to volunteer during the show.
The Fine Art of Fiber typically includes a Boutique for members to sell their work, a Silent Auction of work donated by members to benefit their guilds, a Fashion Show of wearable art, an exhibit by the Women’s Journeys in Fiber group, and the IQI Raffle Quilt is displayed with tickets on sale. The winner of this beautiful raffle quilt is drawn the week after the show, and the winner contacted. Guild members staff an education table to introduce visitors to the quilting arts and the benefits of guild membership.
Entry to the show is free, but there are fees for parking and admission to the Garden for those who are not Garden members. IQI volunteers receive a pass for parking and Garden admission. Visitors vote for the Viewers’ Choice Award, with first, second and third place ribbons awarded Sunday afternoon.
